HarleyWorld 10th Birthday – Saturday 7th May 2011

Yvonne and I went over to Chesterfield for the birthday celebrations and guess what? Elvis is not dead as one of the live entertainments was Elvis singing in the dealership showroom. From a previous report, you will remember that I had to collect my old antennas which had been left after our visit on the Cat & Fiddle recce. I had taken off the new ones at home, so all I had to do was screw on the old ones for easy transportation. There were lots of bargains, all at 25% discount, and I was lucky enough to spot a pair of mirrors for the Glide. We met with Joth (Peak Riders Director) and had a good chat about this and that, and past the time of day with a number of other chapter members – they really are a friendly bunch!

Whilst we were at the dealership it rained quite hard, but it had stopped before we left, leaving us to ride home in the dry! Only difficulty was where someone had dropped diesel, especially on right handed bends. I followed the trail for 5 miles before the ‘splashes’ disappeared. Look out for the mirrors next time you see us on the Glide. This trip was 125 miles. That makes nearly 1,000 miles in the last 9 days. I need to save up for more petrol!! Could I sell anything on e-bay?
